Who we are

Hello and Welcome,

Heidelberg Homeschooling Group is a family based organization created for the express purpose of supporting home school families
in the Greater Rhein Neckar Area (Mannheim, Darmstadt, etc). The group provides a means of communication between home school
families and the sharing of  information pertaining to the Heidelberg military community,   i.e. communication between the DOD school
system, your rights as a homeschooler, school registration issues, facilities available to us for homeschooling, etc.

We are a small but close home school group with about 15  to 20 active families.  There is no charge for membership into the group
and membership is available to any family that resides in Rhein Neckar Region that expresses interest in home schooling . Heidelberg
Homeschooling Group is founded upon Christian principles  and those who have a professed acceptance of Jesus Christ as their
personal Lord and Savior, and believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God. The express intent of this group is to support home
school families, therefore, membership is open to families of  all faiths upon the understanding that Christian principles govern this
organization.   

Heidelberg Homeschooling Group sponsors various  field trips, get togethers, co-op, Moms night out, potlucks and more.  Every year is
different as we have a high turn over rate of families coming and going from this region.  Support is based on participation and help.  We
welcome input, ideas and motivation to keep the group running smoothly.  What may work for us one year might not work the next based
on group size, age of children and or help.

Please feel free to ask any questions.  We are glad you are joining us, we welcome you to the area, this is a great family experience for
all.  We are trying to make the most of it.
