My favorite event was the whole Italy trip,
especially seeing the Leaning Tower of Pisa,
eating gelato and pizza, and going to the
Cinque Terre.  My worst memory of the year
is getting stung by a jellyfish at the beach in
Italy!  ~  Anna
Our day outing to Cinque Terre is
one that will not be forgotten.  The
two hour hike that made you feel
like a mountain goat, followed by
the refreshing water at the beach.

I wish I could've taken a picture of
Danielle hiking while holding an
umbrella over her head the whole
way so she wouldn't get any more
sun.  The kids had gone to the
beach the day before and
sunburned really bad.

Speaking of the beach, who will
forget the Coco Man and his
"Coco's, YooHoo, Coco's" chant. I
know my crew won't for awhile.

The fellowship that we enjoyed in
the morning after breakfast, and
sometimes after dinner, was
incredible.  Gerald enjoyed doing
the cooking for breakfast, and
took the opportunity to have Bible
study time as a group afterward.
After dinner, we would sit around
the grill flames and talk.  Who will
forget Matt's stories he told?  My
kids are still telling them to me,
as though I wasn't there to hear
them!

I loved having a dance
party in our tent in Italy.

Come in, Bad
Cartridge!  Do
you read me?!
Luke S gets poetic about Italy -
Dark then lite (that is spelled right) down
beneath us the rocks sit in silence seeing
feeling nothing.  Above us the pine cones
hang on for life, for a time above all, then the
wind changes and they become like the
rocks.  Across from us the campfire burns,
gets a part of your life you never get back.
Down the street the fountain flows, sounds of
the drums drift past, and in the tent music
plays on.
My favorite part of
our Italy trip was
our Bible study
times.  I will never
ever forget being
lectured by Mr.
Baker  on the
importance of
rising at dawn!
~ Mrs. Shaw
I will always remember
Mrs. Isaac and Mrs.
Hughes perched on the
edge of a fountain at the
Villa Reale, arms
outstretched and smiling
faces raised to catch the
cooling mists that drifted
over them.

I'll also remember riding
our bikes around the
walls of Lucca, and trying
to find Travis, who got lost
in the city center!
~ Mrs. Shaw
The camping in
Italy was great with
the Bakers,
Hughes, and
Isaacs.  It was
good to read the
Bible with them.  I
was surprised that
the kids were so
well behaved and
respectful,
something you
don't see a lot of
these days.
